Christiane Mikles, BSc, CVA

Offering Distance Healing Sessions for both pets and people, Animal Wellness Consultations, and Reiki Meditation Classes, Christi has been a Reiki Practitioner Teacher of the western Usui Shiki Ryôhô teachings since 2004 and has been integrating the traditional Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho teachings since 2020. In-person Reiki Treatments are available in the Sedona area on a limited basis.

Christi gained her love of animals helping her family take care of the neighborhood stray cats and dogs and orphaned or displaced wildlife while growing up in Colorado, where along with the usual cats and dogs, she cared for everything from salamanders and tarantulas to squirrels and raccoons.

After several years managing a pet bathhouse and boutique, animal communication classes, researching animal nutrition, and finishing her Usui Shiki Ryôhô Reiki Practitioner Teacher training in Seattle in 2004, Christi found her connection to animals renewed and founded Circle of Life Reiki (for all species). It was this connection that began her interest in veterinary medicine- she wanted to learn more about animal anatomy and physiology in order to better serve her non-human clients.

In 2006 while volunteering with injured and orphaned wildlife at  Northwest Wildlife Rehabilitation and the Whatcom County Marine Mammal Stranding Network, she earned her Veterinary Assistant Certification at Bellingham Technical College in Washington state.

She then moved back to Colorado to pursue her new dream of veterinary school where she continued to volunteer in wildlife rehabilitation at Wildkind and the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, earned her Associates of Science with concentration in Biology from Front Range Community College in 2009 and following that up with pre veterinary studies and Bachelor of Science in Biology: Concentration in Animal Anatomy and Physiology, Minor in Biomedical Science from Colorado State University in 2013.

Due to the increased needs and special care of her senior dog, Darwin during her undergraduate studies, veterinary school was put on hold and in 2014 Christi moved south of Sun Valley, Idaho where she managed a dairy goat farm start up and worked part time in an area veterinary clinic.

Christi moved to the Verde Valley in 2015 to be closer to family, and worked as a veterinary technician until 2019 when she began petsitting full time, focusing on her personal Reiki practice, and studying deeper into the Japanese foundation of Reiki-completing Usui Reiki Ryoho -Shinpiden Level 3 in 2022.

While Christi is NOT a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, friends and family often consult her before seeking veterinary help. Her experience in vetmed, animal nutrition, animal communication, and her connection to source via Reiki practices increase her intuitive and healing capabilities with animals and humans alike.

She now shares her home with her partner and love of her life- artist Marc Huebert, and their dog Uma. In addition to healing herself and guiding others to self heal through Reiki, she is a  Traveling Petsitter, and personal assistant to local artist Shari Silvey!
